Looking for a meal that is naughty but nice? Here is a great recipe some of the rugby boys make when they really fancy a meal that is ‘bad for you’ but is a healthy alternative. This means that the boys do not go off track with their diet and do not fall back into bad habits.
At the start of the year, a lot of player’s buy bulk meats from meat providers such as muscle food and live lean, this means that they have a lot of lean healthy meat in bulk. As meat is expensive and they eat a lot due to needing lots of protein for muscle recovery, buying meat in bulk is cheaper in the long run. As well as this, the meat is different to meat in a supermarket as it is leaner, less processed and packed with more protein.
This means that the burgers in this picture are from muscle food, and this is why this meal is a healthy alternative to a normal burger and chips.
All you need is:
- Burger from muscle food
- Rapeseed oil
Firstly, preheat the oven to 180*c. Cut up your potatoes, cover in rapeseed oil, paprika and rosemary. Make sure you mix the potatoes well with the oil, rosemary and paprika. Cook for roughly 30 minutes, keep taking out and mixing well throughout.
The burgers take about 20 minutes to cook, so 10 minutes in to cooking your chips, place your burgers in the oven. When your burgers are in the last few minutes of cooking you can add some cheese on top of your burgers and let it melt over the top. In this photo, the boys have used musclefood protein cheese. This type of cheese is less calories, less fat & carb and high in protein.
Obviously you can add vegetables to your dinner, however these boys don’t particularly like vegetables! This meal is quick and easy to cook and super healthy!
