Protein Smoothie Recipe

Protein shakes are a great way to recover after training or a workout in the gym. It is easy to get bored of simply having a protein shake every day, so myself and a couple of the rugby boys have created a protein smoothie that they have when they want a more flavoursome protein drink.

All you need is:

  • 2x handfuls of frozen berries
  • 1-2 scoops of protein powder- 1 scoop= 125kcal, 2.5g fat, 3g carb, 22.5g protein
  • 1-2tsp of hot chocolate for extra flavour
  • cold water

We use a nutribullet to blend the ingredients together, until the berries have broken up. This make your smoothie thick and ice cold, making it so refreshing!

Drink as soon as you have made for best taste. If you leave till later, make sure to shake well so all ingredients mix together again, as they separate over time. If you aren’t keen on seeds, try and sieve your smoothie before drinking.
